the Tarot-driven roleplaying game
Experience an RPG both revolutionary and familiar, where players share control of a single Hero and key moments are decided by the drawing of cards rather than the rolling of dice.
Divination is a totally new tabletop roleplaying game infused with the imagery and symbolism of the Tarot.
No dice are used in Divination; key decision points are driven instead by the drawing and reading of Tarot cards. Character archetypes are derived from those found in the Major Arcana, and Powers encourage behavior that is emblematic of those archetypes.
A shared Hero
Share control of a single Hero, embodying the drives and desires of one inner Aspect of that Hero. Roleplay includes interacting with other Aspects to give voice to the Hero’s inner conflicts and decisions, and trading off control of the Hero in the world.
Magic and Secrets
Discover magical wonders and horrors as the Hero uncovers a reality infinitely stranger and more complex than the world they thought they knew. This reality is the imagery and symbolism of Tarot come to life, offering great power – and even greater danger.
True RPG mechanics
Several story and board games on the market incorporate Tarot cards or use them as story prompts. But Divination is the only true Tarot RPG, perfectly balancing rich narrative with satisfying game mechanics that carry just the right amount of crunch.
Robust growth strategies
Players in campaign have multiple strategies for gathering and leveraging resources, similar to a deck-building game. Every Aspect’s growth path is unique, allowing vast freedom in how to develop and how to help – or interfere with – one’s fellow Aspects.
A love letter to Tarot
Every element of Divination has been defined by the Tarot, and designed with the utmost respect for the art. Experienced practitioners will find a rich new relationship with the deck, and those new to Tarot will experience its beauty in every moment of gameplay.
